communityGeneral Summary--- Maintains established department
policies and procedures. Assists in training and educating
RadiologyTeam on policies and procedures. Uses the Just Culture to
establish objectives that affect the quality assurance program and
safety standards--- Demonstrates and adheres to the department's
policies concerning: incident reporting, broken or out of order
equipment. Is a super user of equipment and trains peers on
equipment can trouble shoot errors and assists in calling in
service. Handles equipment appropriately and trains other
technologists on proper handling. Uses critical thinking to resolve
any problems and complaints to ensure continued efficiency of
department--- Considered an expert in performing all x-ray
procedures according to department policy and protocols. Knows and
correctly and safely operates all x-ray equipment. Provides
technologists with feedback on exam quality. Monitors quality of
images by reviewing 1-5% of the images done in x-ray for but not
limited to correct markings, correct patient labels, motion, and
correct positioning. Image review is reported to the Section
Coordinator for immediate error correction and for monthly
reporting to Quality Meeting.--- Considers the patient's after
registration waiting period and observes the 30 min. waiting period
policy for inpatient ER patients. Coordinates and monitors workload
and patient flow. Monitors outpatient wait times and assists in
moving the patients through the department. Communicates wait times
to patients and trains all staff to do the same. Helps coordinate
daily department activities by determining work schedules to ensure
adequate staffing, quality service and time procedures--- Works
collaboratively with Resource Coordinator to monitor and correct
patient and/or physician schedules to anticipate any coordination
issues prior to exams. Assists in arranging for Vendor training
along with revising the patient and technologists schedules as
needed.--- Demonstrates knowledge of equipment according to
radiation safety. Documents patient information accurately.
Successfully images necessary structures and correctly labels in
designated software. Correctly enters data including patient
arrival time, exam start and end time. Completes exam process in
Meditech consistently and monitors Ordered and Taken status list.
Works with IS and PACS to keep images transferring. Assists in
training other technologists quality in tracking exams---
Considered an expert in dose reduction and able to train
technologists in proper protocols to reduce radiation while
providing physicians with high quality images. Practices radiation
protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient.--- Collects
data performs tests and monitors x-ray QC program as required by
manufacture. Precepts new Students and employees as directed by
supervisor --- Keeps quality data projects running smoothly and
keeps Resource Coordinator and Manager informed of a project's
progressMINIMUM EDUCATION:
An Associates degree from an American Medical Association approved
course in radiologic
technology.
Must be certified from American Registry of Radiologic
Technology.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
Five years of experience as a radiology technologist is
required.
Successful experience in training others is required.
