CUSTODIAN

Department: Parks

Reports to: Hudson-Campbell Manager

Status: Part-Time

Salary: $12,724.55

The custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of a fitness center and the surrounding grounds. Their duties include but are not limited to vacuuming floors, sanitizing restroom facilities and collecting trash to ensure the building's occupants have a clean space.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The ideal candidate will:
--- Keep building and property in clean and orderly condition.
--- Perform routine maintenance activities.
--- Perform heavy cleaning duties.
--- Sweep, mop, scrub, buff, or vacuum floors.
--- Gather and empty trash.
--- Scrub, sanitize, and supply restroom facilities.
--- Dust furniture, walls and equipment.
--- Clean windows, mirrors, and partitions with soap and other cleansers.
--- Mix cleaning solutions and chemicals in containers in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions.
--- Follow procedures for use of chemical cleaners and power machinery to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
--- Clean and polish fixtures and furniture.
--- Shampoo or steam-clean carpets and rugs.
--- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies.

QUALIFICATIONS:
--- Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures
--- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for many hours
--- Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods of time
--- Experience using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions
--- Background in handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicals
--- Knowledge of occupational hazards, safety rules
--- Communication skills
--- Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders and work at particular heights
