Description:F Childcare Site Supervisor - Group LeaderYWCA

dignity for all.Job SummaryThe Childcare Site Supervisor - Group
Leader is responsible for assisting in the development,
implementation, supervision and evaluation of an assigned site.
Major Responsibilities1. Deliver the program in a positive
environment of safety, support and care in keeping with Child Care
Programs purpose; alert Program Director and/or Assistant Program
Director when problems arise.2. Comply with all state licensing
regulations, Dept. of Public Instruction guidelines, and Young
Star; complete Shaken Baby Syndrome Prevention Training as needed;
follow mandatory child abuse reporting laws and complete training
every 2 years.3. Take attendance daily and know the whereabouts of
all children at all times.4. Set clear rules and expectations to
keep children safe and to help guide behavior.5. Be familiar with
all information in a child's file.6. Make sure program space is
safe, clean, and comfortable for active and quiet needs; set up
program room incorporating at least 5 distinguishable interest
areas.7. Follow through with requests and information from support
staff listed in meeting notes, stated in voicemail, or any other
form of communication.8. Check site voice mail every morning and
afternoon. Record messages in communication log book received
directly from a parent or retrieved from voicemail. If there are no
messages in voicemail, write the date, am or pm, and no messages.9.
Check YWCA and school mailboxes for information.10. Initiate and
maintain communication with school personnel, especially principals
and custodial staff.11. Greet parents and children daily.12.
Distributer information to parents as needed; post information at
parent table as it becomes available13. Create an environment that
supports a wide range of activities and interests.14. Supervise and
interact with children to help them develop physically, socially,
emotionally and cognitively.15. Ensure Child Guidance policy is
properly maintained.16. Record snack counts and items served daily
and make menu changes when necessary.17. Keep accurate records of
children's attendance.18. Date and initial schedules and amount
paid.19. Record monthly drills.20. Ensure all paperwork and record
keeping materials are on site during program hours21. Responsible
for opening and closing the site.22. Pick up snack cooler on the
first day of the work week and any additional snack items during
the week as requested. Return site cooler on requested day.23.
Inform Assistant Program Director Snack and Supply when you receive
more or less snacks than required for your site24. Responsible for
maintaining adequate supplies at the site (cups, bowls, plates,
silverware, paper towels, food storage bags, blank schedules, table
sanitizer, etc).25. Attend staff, departmental, and other YWCA
meetings as assigned.26. Maintain familiarity with YWCA goals,
mission and programs.27. Other duties as assignedQualificationso
High School Diploma, or equivalent; advanced degree in Early
Childhood, CDA, Elementary Education, or related degree preferred.o
1-3 years' experience and educational background in group
activities and planning daily programs.o Ability to meet Wisconsin
Department of Health and Social Services licensing requirements.o
Current CPR and AED certification.o Registry level 10 with 6 of the
credits being in supervision/personal management or financial
management course work for Site Supervision; Registry Level 7 or
Higher for Group Leadership.o Ability to provide a safe,
supportive, and stimulating environment for children.o
Detail-oriented with good communication, problem solving and
organizational skills. o Ability to develop a team approach with
staff, volunteers and community partners. o Strong interpersonal
and communication skills; enthusiastic, warm and approachable.o
Experience working with culturally and economically diverse
populations.o Good judgement when making decisions. Able to make
